After driving along a winding road in a lemon-yellow Mini Moke, your hair blowing in the wind as you wind your way through the emerald green hills of this island beloved by the jet set and the happy few, you arrive at the Gyp Sea Hotel. Overlooking the entire Flamands Bay from the heights of Colombier, this bohemian boutique hotel is a beautifully kept secret.

A wild and unspoiled setting

After winding your way through the shade of huge latan trees, lemon trees, and mango trees along a path paved with weathered wood, you arrive at a large, elegant colonial building. In the shade of its veranda, a swarm of wooden birds suspended above seems to float eternally in a summer scent. The living rooms, with their refined furniture, including turned wood and cane armchairs and sofas, or rattan pieces upholstered in opulent sun-colored fabrics, invite you to cool off. You can also enjoy breakfast here or linger in the evening at its colonial-chic bar.

With the exquisite feeling that time could stand still, guests enjoy the cool air and delicate scents rising from the hyacinth ponds and lush gardens with multicolored flowers that cascade up the hill to the 22 bungalows, suites, and private villas. Here and there, white butterflies flutter in clusters, while turtles stroll peacefully. Children are delighted to be able to admire them in complete freedom, as the boutique hotel has even had a nursery for several years. Iguanas and small goats also roam peacefully. This wild setting is so well preserved that this year it received Green Globe certification, awarded to the most sustainable and, in fact, the most sought-after hotels in the world.

Chic tropical decor and sea view

To tell the truth, every corner of this boutique hotel invites you to let go, whether you're strolling through the sun-yellow lounges or under the lobby veranda, in the gardens, near the ponds or the large lagoon-blue bean-shaped swimming pool surrounded by palm trees, coconut trees, and pink orchids. Everything here resonates with the charm and splendor of the Caribbean. The twenty-two bungalows, suites, and villas, some with private pools, are no exception to the rule. They offer breathtaking sea views and handcrafted decor that celebrates travel with a host of beautiful handcrafted objects. Small boxes and Syrian chests set with mother-of-pearl, mirrors and large chandeliers decorated with shells, wooden, bamboo and rattan furniture, silky, soft fabrics with colorful prints and embroidery, canopies, delicate little objects in the shape of fruit and birds found at the ends of the earth, Caribbean jewelry made of pearls, feathers, and shells, freestanding bathtubs set on the side of a rock... All enhanced by bright colors like rays of sunshine: turquoise, canary yellow, bougainvillea pink, ultramarine blue...

Bliss menu

Escaping here with friends or family, and of course with your loved one, to enjoy the sweet life of this island with its Edenic beauty feels like a privilege, a beautiful promise of happiness. Just sit on the terrace, rocked gently in a hanging chair, and watch the sea or the wild goats leaping across the rocks to nibble fruit from the trees. Savour an ultra-exclusive chef's dinner prepared especially for you and served in your villa or private suite. Take the whole family to explore the crystal-clear lagoons and their colorful wildlife, try your hand at water sports, or go hiking in the great outdoors. As if that weren't enough, the Pure Altitude spa also delivers on its promises with treatments that combine tropical fragrances with Pure Altitude's technical expertise: hot shell massage, restorative after-sun treatment with coconut pulp and oil, tropical energy ritual with sweet orange and ylang-ylang fragrance...

To make this idyllic stay even more perfect, guests can call on the concierge, as this 5-star boutique hotel offers tailor-made service. Days pass by with infinite gentleness, in relaxed luxury without fuss. What's more, the sea is not far away. Just hop in a mini moke to drive to the white sands of Saint-Jean and dive into the lagoon waters of Gyp Sea Beach Club on the sublime Pélican beach. Or head to nearby Gustavia, the island's most fashionable district.
