In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, under the Provence sun, lies Domaine de Marie. A living estate acquired 22 years ago, where 11 grape varieties are cultivated on 22 hectares of vines with philosophy and common sense. A vineyard - but not only ... - passionately cultivated to the rhythm of the seasons, just a stone's throw from the Bastide de Marie, a superb 18th-century stone building set in a green setting.

Among the vines, the Sibuet family also grows hundreds of olive trees, from which they make a delicious olive oil, as well as truffle oaks, cypresses, lavender, aromatic plants and heirloom vegetables. While the bees are busy making their honey, Arnaud Bressy, the cellar master, takes us behind the scenes of this beautiful vineyard.

A vineyard where the hand of man is above all guided by the intelligence of nature. Here, everything has its place. Ladybugs and bats for pests, grass-covered vines for freshness and good soil mineralization... For over 20 years, no chemical inputs have been used on these lands, right down to the tractors, which are used as little as possible. The result? An enlightened viticulture, red, white and rosé wines as elegant as they are complex and always fruity, and some 80,000 bottles a year with several cuvées, including AOP Luberon for each color. But what else? The answer in 5 letters.

A as in PDO

Since ancient times, vines have been grown on these sunny Mediterranean soils, where the coolness of the pre-Alps is felt at nightfall. This influence attenuates the alcohol content and brings lightness to these characterful wines, which are beautifully fruity with good acidity, yet complex and well-balanced.

C as in CUVÉE MARIE N°1

Produced from the estate's oldest vines (some 30 years old), Cuvée N°1 (red) produces rich, elegant wines with long-lasting aromas. These are wines for laying down, with plenty of fruit (red and black fruits, and spicy, copper notes) but also power and finesse, which go wonderfully well with cooked dishes and fine wines.

J as in JARRE

After macerating and fermenting in stainless steel vats, Cuvée N°1 is blended partly in terracotta jars and partly in oak barrels. A neutral, natural material, terracotta allows the aromas of the grape varieties to be expressed with purity and authenticity, while perfectly respecting fruit and tannin. Unlike oak barrels, which naturally add complexity along with the wood.

R as in REASONED

At the crossroads of reasoned, organic and biodynamic viticulture, Domaine de Marie's philosophy is guided by common sense and respect for nature's way of doing things. The viticulture is very low interventionist, with everything working in symbiosis. Like the hedges that separate the plots and retain water and soil, while providing shelter for birds and insects that naturally help protect the vines from predators.

S as in SYRAH

Emblematic of the Côtes du Rhône and the Rhône Valley, Syrah is increasingly used at Domaine de Marie. A grape variety with spicy notes and aromas of violets, it produces complex, fine and elegant wines in these southern soils.
