Laetitia Hespel cultivates aromatic and medicinal plants in a half-hectare garden set into the slope at an altitude of 850 m on the edge of the forest. This passionate grower-gatherer works her garden in harmony with nature, which, as she puts it, leads the way. When she's not out and about, a sheet tied around her waist and shoulders, she's doing her wild gathering. For Pure Altitude, she composes herbal teas that are as tasty and beneficial as they are colorful, including a new blend to relax the body after exercise.

In her forest garden near Alex in Haute-Savoie, Laetitia cultivates and harvests some forty plants with infinite care. Trained as a herbalist and organic farmer, she cultivates according to permaculture principles and only works to order, taking only what she needs. Beehives dot her Eden-like garden, to the delight of young and old alike. When the weather's fine, she picks her plants by hand, then dries them on wooden racks draped with canvas, sells them or makes customized blends, if not perfumed salts. Then, in winter, she leads botanical workshops, revealing some of her secrets, including cold saponification.

Taste with your eyes closed? The loose infusions she creates for Pure Altitude, with their almost magical virtues, such as "En Apesanteur", which combines sage, chamomile, peppermint and lemon balm, ideal for good digestion, or "Échappée Belle", a delicate detox infusion composed of verbena, wild meadowsweet, blackcurrant leaf, rose, ash and nettle. Not forgetting a new restorative blend in which she combines wild plants with a mint-bergamot base, to name but two, to soothe inflammation and relax muscles after skiing or hiking. As we all know, nature is more than generous with those who know how to sublimate it.
