Lunch for little hikers
Every summer, guests at Les Fermes de Marie have the privilege of dining at l'Alpage des Fermes. An exclusive retreat at an altitude of 1,800 m. A real postcard where little ones love to go. For the walk, the flowers, the animals they meet, and of course for the generous, gourmet lunch.
L'Alpage des Fermes
Right from the start, the walk promises to be full of stories. A mountain guide is on hand to explain what you'll be seeing along the way. The walk lasts an hour, during which the Kids concierge can accompany the children, if desired, and organize games on arrival.
We start by taking the Rochebrune cable car, from which we can admire Mont Blanc. We skirt ridges, cross fields and forests, then start climbing. As for the little ones, they'll flutter and marvel at the multicolored flowers and animals, as we come across cows, chamois and marmots in their burrows. What's more, the guide is on hand to explain everything. At the end of the forest, we finally see the Alpage, where lunch is ready. As soon as they arrive, the children feast on Savoy cheeses and sausages, and sip fresh apple juice by the pond where, if they look hard enough, some of them will end up falling...After studying the Alpage in all its nooks and crannies, with its trunks and old racks, they love to hear the story of the Soupe au Caillou, this beautiful tale of sharing where, with the ingredients brought in by penniless neighbors, a soup based on water and a simple pebble is transformed into a convivial meal. What's more, they get to taste the soup for real, with homemade pies, polenta sticks, mountain ham cut with a knife and terribly good homemade desserts: fruit soup is fun, but clafoutis, large meringues and blueberry tarts are even more so.
